The Renault Group announced on Tuesday (08/12) that it will start manufacturing the Duster utility in Brazil in 2011, more precisely at its factory located in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. The current model, for the time being, is manufactured only by the Romanian subsidiary to serve the European market.
The Duster is developed on the same platform as Sandero, Logan and Nissan Livina , and comes to fight with the Ford Ecosport , as well as a future launch of GM based on the Agile family.
The utility is equipped with 1.6 16V engine with 110 hp of gasoline power. Renault claims that two diesel versions will also be available, and in Brazil, the 1.6 8V flex engine. The gearbox is sequential with six gears. The engine and transmission set is the result of the Renault-Nissan alliance.
